Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
Lots of parts came in the mail a few days ago, and today I spent most of the day working on my Volvo. I replaced the ignition coils, brake pads, rotors, sway bar links, gas cap seal, and transmission mount. Then I had fun accelerating and braking hard on a rural road to break in the brakes. Looks l...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
I got a hitch for free from a guy that I met at the dog park and installed it. I WANT A FACTORY HITCH! Aren't you in Montana? There's a couple Xc70 in the junkyard here that I was going to grab one of them before a free one fell in my lap. I don't know how hard they are to find but I could probably...

Re: 2006 XC70 hesitates on heavy acceleration after changing PCV system
Any codes present or check engine light? You should use Throttle body cleaner and use caution not to allow it to run into the electronics. I spray it on a rag and then clean the throttle body to avoid doing any damage. I would think that could be your issue, did you replace the injectors with new Bo...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
That's the one. Mine actually came with the cover (part number #6) and an instruction manual for installation and a template for cutting the plastic bumper that looked like it was published by the same people that make the IKEA instructions. I should have kept it but installation is very self explan...

Re: Are my seats real leather?
They are real leather but only on the seating surface and the front pockets. The sides and backs are fake leather as is the shift boot and e brake boot and console armrest. The leather portion is painted, not tanned, and can be cleaned up with a leather cleaner and followed up with a leather conditi...

Turbo Intercooler pipe blew off
I understand this is a somewhat common problem as our P2's age, as the picture illustrates the metal sleeve falls out of the intercooler pipe down into the rubber coupling. As the plastic pipe gets heat cycles the hose clamp deforms the pipe while the vigilant owner continues to tighten the hose cla...

Re: Turbo Intercooler pipe blew off
I don't know how important or beneficial it would be to clean out the intercooler and associated piping, I'm thinking it may provide some incremental improvement. My car has a oily film inside the piping and hoses and almost certainly the intercooler, I recently did the PCV system and the car hoses ...

Oil pan removal and reseal
As a "stage 2" procedure of replacing the PCV system in my car a few months ago, I was concerned about the possibility of the PCV drain port in the oil pan being clogged and wanted to get the oil pan off and ensure that it was clear and also clear any gunk out of the oilpan before reinstal...

Re: 06' V70 Front End Damage Repair
The car looks like a good one and certainly worth fixing, it doesn't look like a beater. There's so many of these in the wrecking yard right now that repair is just a matter of cataloging a parts list and doing a lot of R&R. Kelly Blue book value doesn't apply as far as I'm concerned with these ...

Re: P80 P2 Subframe Bushing installation with pictures 3507923
I think this is probably a good idea. I've done a bunch of searching on this and Volvo has come up with this solution as a service bulletin to address a mysterious noise that seems to occur in a small percentage of cars and XC 90's (maybe other models). If I had to do this job again I think I would ...
