Re: P80 delta link time 3516122
I’ll confess 30 vs 200 is on the edge for me on this one. I think you can get FEBI rather than the brands you now are crappy at the low price, and 5 hours of my time is worth about $100 in my price book. Last thing to consider. Are your driven roads good shape, smooth , highways? Yes would give a n...

Re: P80 delta link time 3516122
It's a hassle but not that bad to do and due to the way it fails, this is not a mission critical part. Most P80 cars are running on bad delta links, just like they were 5 years ago when there were many more on the road. I will try to post up a pic of mine. I agree this one is not an easy call, good ...

Re: 93 850 Recirc damper motor calibration?
I haven't done the calibration procedure before, so I can't offer help on that.
But, I have replaced the damper motors before. If you rotate the replacement damper to the same position that the old one was in when you removed it, you may not have to do a recalibration.

Re: release cv joint
My favorite way these days it to hold open the ring with a fat screwdriver, then use an air hammer on the joint surface between the ends of the ring. Takes a few tries but once the ring is held apart properly they pop right off. I put the axle in a vise, that part seems essential. Alas, I did three ...

Re: release cv joint
I'm sure someone will contradict this, but I'm not sure how you do this without a bench vice. The few times I have done this you needed 3 hands idealy to carry this out and without a vice it would be near impossible. You really need the axle held firmly so the shock of hitting the cage assembly is f...

Re: release cv joint
I bought the CV Joint Removal tool a few months ago. I wished I bought this tool 15 years ago. I just replaced the CV Boots on my 2004 V70, this tool makes the job of separating the CV Joint so easy. This is one tool that is worth every penny. Make sure you use GKN boots (or Volvo boots). They are m...

Re: LED vs Halogen Headlight Comparison
Anytime you do a comparison or evaluation of headlight effectiveness, you always need to specify the condition of the reflectors BEHIND the light source. Even with standard stock Halogen bulbs, the difference between headlight assemblies that are brand new with a mirror reflective surface and old he...

Re: release cv joint
I usually spread the ears of the snap ring with a small screwdriver as I slide the joint back on and it just takes a few light taps. It should slide on easily without the snap ring. If the joint is on all the way the snap ring will rotate easily when you push it with a small screwdriver.
