Re: P2 Door Rattle Fix
Following this fix I also used GTMat on my doors(dynamat clone) and used 3M thinsulate on the inside of the removable door panel as well. The bass is incredible and there are no rattles from any of my doors anymore! I also did a fix for the creaky seats and rattling B pillars in these cars. In addit...

850 and S/V/C70 non-turbo vacuum lines
As a companion to a similar thread for turbo cars (https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=63615), here is a thread dedicated to documenting the vacuum lines in the non-turbo (NA) 850 and 98 S/V/C70. I know that what I am posting here is good for 95+ without EGR, someone else will h...

What did you do to your Volvo today?
I've mostly been a lurker on this forum for many years and have never seen a thread of this type so I decided to start one. Hopefully it can perpetuate itself. I always love reading about what every one is up to. Whether its an oil change or an engine swap, post it here. So what is everyone up to? :...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky!!)
The good news is that all the new radiator hoses appear dry, as well as the heater hoses. No new leaks, coolant smell, wet spot or steam from the engine today (or last night), but I did notice a damp hose where it meets the timing cover (upper right section in the photo below). P80 DIY: Oil Cooler Line Rebuild 3528201 3528207
The oil cooler lines on these cars are known for leaking where the rubber hose is crimped to the metal ends. Mine have been leaking for about 4 years, but it was a slow leak. Today I decided to repair them. The Volvo replacements are a steep $250 for the pair. There are aftermarket brands but the re...

Sc-901 BlueTooth Hack
As much as i know there is some posts on this already, i wanted to share how I added an aux and bluetooth to my car, for free in my case. All i needed was a pair of wireless headphones, soldering iron, hot glue gun, some wire, and a lot of poking around on the internet and a volt meter. Now in my ca...

Re: Thoughts on the longevity of the S70?
I think longevity is the wrong word. I learned working with Land Rovers and Land Cruisers that longevity is a subjective concept. Everyone perceives that Toyotas are unbelievably reliable and that Land Rovers are not, especially the ones with the old Rover v8. Well it's a hell of a lot easier to tak...

Re: 1997 850 GLT Engine Swap
So, we had to replace the engine in my wife's '97 GLT last year. We went with another LPT engine ('01 RN motor) with half the miles on it. The N->RN swap wasn't that big of a deal. We stayed with the dist ignition (for now) and didn't mess with the VVT (yet), and just left it unplugged. We added a 1...
