Re: Volvo XC90 clicking sound when braking
My 2006 XC90 does a very similar thing. Slight click when brakes are applied. Caliper is tight as are the pads. Sounds like it comes from the passenger side.

Re: Volvo XC90 clicking sound when braking
There's the potential for a click of axle spline (ping) on initial application and release of the CV joints, then there's a driveline single click on release and re-engagement of power at near stop (sometimes hear it sometimes don't, I have this issue and for me it seems specific to the V8) as a few...

Re: Volvo XC90 clicking sound when braking
Rather than edit the old post, I had thought to add some notes- I noticed my click sound maybe the day after I bought my car (summer 2015), bothered me enough that towards the end of my 90 day warranty (bought at a dealer) I took the car in specifically to have it documented and addressed. What I go...

Re: Replace right rear axle seal on 2011 XC90 V8 HELP!
I think you have to pull the hub and then pull the axle through the assembly.

Re: XC90 Stripped hole on wheel hub
Heli-coils are not good for this. Those do not tolerate re-use well at all. The "spring" will walk out of the hub when the lug bolt is screwed in after a couple of removals. TimeSert will work great as it is a solid insert with a larger tapered stop and since it is an insert you can put lo...

Re: XC90 Stripped hole on wheel hub
1+,
Options are:
1. Drive with 4 lugs, probably good enough but...
2. With a car this age/mileage, maybe good idea to get new hub, which is about $140 for F.A.G. brand.

Re: XC90 Stripped hole on wheel hub
If they over torqued that lug, chances are they also did the others... if it was recent, have them replace the hub(s). If not, I wouldn’t mess around with it and just get it replaced.

Re: XC90 Stripped hole on wheel hub
Just had something similar happen to my BMW. I was able to buy a tap of the correct size/pitch and fix the problem. On mine only the first few threads were messed up so after I got them repaired the lug bolt went in and gripped to torque without issue. Most better tire places have the tap on hand or...

Re: XC90 remove rear strut
- If the shock cover is plastic you could potentially cut it and put a pair of vise grips on the piston and use a socket on top. Before that lubricate and let it sit for a day. It you have a torch heat it first then lubricate after it cools. Regardless you'll need something to hold the shock piston ...

Re: XC90 remove rear strut
You could try holding the socket externally with a pair of vice grips and get the Allen wrench through the top.
