Re: Non-Volvo car chat megathread
Yep, very narrow, and super mega long. I always thought "Marlboro McLaren" was the coolest name in all of motorsports. Like the type of thing in a Western where one guy walks into a saloon and the music stops and on the balcony someone whispers to their friend "What does he drive?"

Re: ‘97 850 Wagon
Black Bart wins the guesses with a bad radiator cooling fan relay. Jumped per Robert DIY's video instructions and it engaged both high and low speed.
Question now: no 850's currenty at the junkyard. Does a '98 V70 have the same relay?

The more cylinders, the smoother the engine runs.
What a sudden change due to events though - from building V12s to not building cars at all.

Re: Volvo Findings! (What have you found on Craigslist?)
I don’t see enough Russian fighter planes around to justify a MIG welder, on the other hand, the wonderful thing about TIG is that TIG are wonderful things

Re: I spotted a Volvo! thread
Look closely and you'll see the rear window is the original wagon tailgate. The two silver things above the b pillar are the original tailgate hinges. Probably still have the classic broken wiring. The owner sourced another tailgate for the actual tailgate. Looks like black plexiglass rear door wind...

Re: 2004 XC70 Instrument Cluster Issues
Oh, the hot side to ground then? Yes, one lead to ground, the other lead to the fuse contact. I checked my car and power is on the left fuse contact, I used a bolt on the door jam as ground. I also noticed on my car (2001 V70) the CEM fuses didn't match exactly with 2002 wiring diagram I have. Fuse...

1953 Volvo Sport origin story
Nice story; I had forgotten the California origin, and the Glasspar connection. 53 Volvo Sport.jpg Total run of 70, before Volvo drove the stake through its heart. https://www.collierautomedia.com/plastic-fantastic-volvos-sport Seems senior management wasn't impressed with the built-in rattles and s...
