Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky!!)

So today I did some groceries. While walking to the store I see a lady in a VW Golf IV park next to my car, which I thought to be weird since the whole parkinglot was mostly vacant (for real). Since I have some bad experiences with parkingdamages and people just driving away without a note et ceter...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today? (now Sticky!!)

I swear it is some people's mission in life to ensure others can't have nice things. If I had a nickle for every time my Volvo was carelessly (or deliberately) hit in a parking lot by some... well you know..., I would have enough money to have every ding pulled out and the entire car repainted Saffr...

Button: I changed "Thanks" to "Like"

The functionality is the same. I changed the wording. It makes more sense to like a post because of the ubiquitous Facebook paradigm. Plus, the button is similar to the FB "like" imagery... thumbs up. You won't see the button on this post because I omitted General Chat from this functional...

Re: 2004 XC70 MPG on 91 Octane (US)

I'm pretty happy with that MPG considering the size, weight and aerodynamics of the car. Aerodynamics of a second generation V70 .... :? You have a car with one of the lowest coefficient of drag. The second generation V70 coefficient of drag is 0.30 cd. Better then a a Koenigsegg Agera R, 0.37 cd. ...

Re: How reliable is the Volvo V70? (2004-2007)

The appearance of oil just doesn’t mean much. Fine particles of carbon much smaller than the bearing passages aren’t damaging, but make the oil black earlier. My Blackstone analysis on 7500 mile (12000 km) interval shows Mobil 1 High mileage ( non-pure US synthetic) is like new on my P2, T4, and BMW...

50% of us are idiots, so we need electrical supervision so we don't burn neighborhoods down. Mother nature does that ok.

Re: Long trip prep? ('04 XC)

Best thing you can do for the engine is get a bicycle for short and super short trips. Agreed. Except we are in America here, where bikes are only used to exercise, not to get places :o We take bikes, make them stationary, so that we can lose the weight we gained eating bad food in our cars,...

Re: Best modifications made to your P80 Volvo

For HP, by far the best cost/benefit ratio was a manual boost controller . It was peanuts for the huge jump in HP. Even more cost/benefitty if you DIY one from stuff at a hardware store, maybe $20. Strut tower brace was a decent upgrade. Tires however are probably the most prudent item you can upgra...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

Definitely dodged a big bullet there Shiloh :o One thing that’s always bothered me about P2’s is how the arse end of these cars reminds me rather vividly of a “sulky”. As in, the little trailer that is towed behind a walk-behind zero-turn mower - the operator stands on it whilst operating said ZT mo...
