Re: XC90 V8 Intermittent fuel pressure cutout
If you are speaking about the creak/squeak sound no that does not sound normal - but does not sound serious either. Sounds like something needs a shot of WD40. I do have a 06 XC90 V8.

Re: XC90 V8 Intermittent fuel pressure cutout
If you have the opportunity, go into the Delivery tab and erase all codes (follow instructions so they're actually erased) then see what pops up as legit. For the difference between fuel tank senders, entirely possible the driver side sender has some wear on the rheostat, replaced mine on the '05 a ...

Re: XC90 V8 Intermittent fuel pressure cutout
Did you receive and install your replacement controller yet? Looking at the screenshots you uploaded, and especially at the one with the graph... In that one it looks like everything is running as it should - fuel pressure is maintaining a constant value, ECU signal to the fuel pump controller is es...

Re: XC90 V8 Intermittent fuel pressure cutout
On edit...the PEM Is not on CANBUS, see diagram above
I thought the PEM had a CANBUS connection onto the CEM when I did my 2005 troubleshoot?

I have a spare, working PEM I can send to people to try a swap strategy, btw

Re: XC90 V8 Intermittent fuel pressure cutout
Do these V8s run a Bosch ECM? Though rare they do fail and cause similar (intermittent) faults
With enough time on your hands this may end up being a diagnosis going straight back to the ECM.

Re: XC90 V8 Intermittent fuel pressure cutout
Denso also fail but it seems I have more Bosch ones being cloned of late probably more due to the popularity of the turbo five cylinder. One thing a car can't do well is diagnose it's own ECM when intermittently faulty. If you're lucky you'll get a failed communication code on Vida ECM-003 I think i...

Re: XC90 V8 Intermittent fuel pressure cutout
Nice meeting you shockwave. Sorry I was overdressed but it was Sunday What we need is for someone to find the full IEEE description of the ECM to PEM control signal, is it a TTL square signal or what ? I thought it was a 0-5 V Square, when I’m back in ny I might be able If your Volvo place has the E...
