Re: Dim not responding 2005 V70 2.4 NA

May as well check the connector behind the DIM For the CEM, if I'm not wrong, I think the water ingress happened from a harness gasket passing outside the firewall above the CEM, somewhere under the windshield cowl. Maybe lifting the cowl (the wiper arm is hard to remove) and look underneath to clea...

Re: Oil seal leaking?

- If no oil on driveway, just monitor it. - Clean the area and put dye in engine oil to see where it comes from. - If proven to be main crank seal (unusual before 200K miles), then TB needs to come out, oil pump removed to replace the seal. Use only Corteco or Volvo Genuine seal. Info of DIY is in f...

Re: Oil seal leaking?

You may also check the VVT hubs. One of mine sprung a leak around 180K. I noticed several other posts with leaky VVT hubs around 180K. June

Re: Oil seal leaking?

Front crank seal or oil pump gasket - most likely the crank seal. The harmonic balancer and crank gear have to come off, but everything above can be left undisturbed. You can lock your cams via zip ties, make sure they don't rotate, and mark your belt with nail polish or white out to get your timing...

Re: Oil seal leaking?

Rear Bumper will buff right out...lol...

- Front CAM seals usually leak around 150K.
- Front CRANK seal leaks around 200K+.

I have fixed so many leaking seals in my life that I now develop a new philosophy...if no oil on driveway, I just monitor the leak until it is more severe, then fix it then.

Re: Oil seal leaking?

If you plan on monitoring the leak give the ATP AT-205 Re-Seal Stops Leaks a try. Not sure how those seals are made but it could be a stop gap before replacing them.

Re: No heat and little air coming from the vents

No cleaning won't help if you can put it on max heat and you still get nothing. You can open up all of the plastic pieces that goes below the shifter and below the steering wheel and glovebox, set key to position II and mess with the climate control to actually look at the mechanism to see if it mov...

Re: No heat and little air coming from the vents

Are those hoses warm or too hot to touch? They should be the latter if the core is in full flow.

Re: No heat and little air coming from the vents

I'd definitely say it's clogged.I've tried most of the stuff you did; even did a heater core flush a few times to no avail. Not sure how far north you are, or if you got a warm garage to do this. But you are gonna have to do a coolant flush if you didn't already; a new heater core, two pipe clamps, ...
