Re: 98 v70 ac blows weak until I step on the braks, then it bowls nice and strong.

Your blower motor bushings are dirty. Removing and replacing the motor is easy. Remove the glove box and the kick panel on the passenger side. Check out other threads on this site. Working on the bearing is a PITA. Use 2 long thin screw drivers inserted between the squirrel cage fan and the motor, s...

1999 S70 GLT Power Steering Foam - cause - missing return baffle in pump reservoir

Recently on a trip up to Canada and very cold temperatures the power steering system started to make noise when turning the steering wheel. This is my first 1999 S70-GLT. I have two 1998 70-T5s. There are a number of differences between the two types of PS systems. The old system you check the fluid...

Re: 1999 S70 GLT Power Steering Foam - cause - missing return baffle in pump reservoir

Latest update. I used some coat hanger wire and fished around for the diverter inside the old PS tank. It is a tube with a right angle. There is a long side of about 3-4 inches and a short side of about 1 inch. The short end has a bevel cut into the end of the tube. This allows the tube to press alo...

Re: Headlights, yet again...WITH PICTURES 98 V70 99 S70

I have just been able to upgrade my headlights in a 1999 S70-GLT. I was at the PnP when I saw two aftermarket, almost new looking headlamp assemblies in a 1998 V70. The brightness of the chrome reflectors, visible through the lenses was jaw dropping. I grabbed them ($31.00 each) and installed them A...

Re: Breakout cable to add an Amp to P80 cars - audio centipede

I am installing an SC-901 and external amplifier from C70 donor cars into a 1999 S70-GLT. Thanks for all the information in this thread. Though I pulled a 4 x 100 watt C70 amplifier I decided to use a smaller 4 x 75 watt amp from a S60. This is an under the passenger seat model. In the case of each ...

P0455 Evap Code 1999 S70 GLT SOLVED

Suddenly I had p0455 "gross leak" failure on the evap system. I also thought the idle was slightly less even. Following much of this site's information on the J hose and L hose connected to the charcoal canister I found two small cracks on the L hose. I had previously solved my first P0455...

Re: 1998 S70 N/A noises in suspension

Usually CV joint noise is a clicking sound when rounding a corner especially at low speeds. As you came to a slow rolling stop I heard the noise again. I would look at the top of the strut. The strut mount is a common point of failure but you would probably hear it going straight and over bumps. Als...

Re: If it ain't broke don't fix it (EVAP System Monitor)

Some success. I have replaced all the vacuum lines for the EVAP/Purge valve system and another Purge Valve with OEM parts from a PnP. This is the line that originates at the (1999/2000 year) intake manifold's center nipple (approx: 1/4 " or 6mm diameter). I also reused the original 3-way adapte...

Re: V70 LED Headlights Conversion

I converted my halogen bulbs to LEDs for both low and high beams using stock wiring. I happen to have found a great pair of aftermarket headlamps from the local PnP that had shiny reflectors, clear lenses and decent beam cutoff. I never have anyone flash me for blinding them when using my low beams....

Re: SOLVERD: Tried to use injector cleaner tool at the schrader valve

Just catching up on this post. I lowered the air pressure on the injector cleaner tool to below 30 psi. Everything worked as it should. The engine ran at idle and the cleaner was passed into the injectors, not back to the fuel tank. Thanks everyone for your input.
