Re: 2001 V70XC - Chasing fluid at the bottom of the turbo

Only remove transmission torque mount to the subframe. Laying on your back with feet out to the front. Pan loosened, final 4 corner screws removed. Grab the pan, first tilt/lower the front and clear the subframe (the two mounting point for engine protective cover). Then lower and clear the flywheel ...

Re: 2001 V70XC - Chasing fluid at the bottom of the turbo

Great information here! Thanks for taking the time to add such detailed procedures, along with p/n's, torque specs and photos. I'll be sure to reference this in the future. I use Simple Green still, along with products like 409, Greased Lightening, etc. but I started using kerosene where I could soa...

Re: 2001 V70XC - Chasing fluid at the bottom of the turbo

When done, I bottle it up and bring it to be recycled with used oil. Simple Green and 409 are most friendly of cleaning supplies in...

Re: 2001 V70XC - Chasing fluid at the bottom of the turbo

End in sight: very slippery with gasket on. About a mm shift toward the oil cooler after the final 17Nm torque. But a hairline shift at the pan to transmission 14mm bolts.

I don't have a Volvo PN for this particular TCV, but the Pierburg PN is 7.22908.03.0.

Re: DIY: 2005 XC90 2.5T Throttle Body Cleaning

I was looking at the 2005 XC90 2.5T engine today. Once the Throttle Body is out, one may be able to remove the Oil Trap for cleaning WITHOUT removing the Intake manifold. There is enough room, once the tube feeding the TB is out, undo: - Top 2 hoses. - Rubber Elbow. - Two 10-mm bolts and the oil tra...

Re: 2001 S80 T6 Siren Module 9452709 Replacement/Repair - How To

I just got done with this repair by following this how-to on my 2004 XC90. I had the warning notification on the dash and an inoperable sunroof. I put a new battery in a siren out of a 2005 XC90 in the junkyard. Now there’s not a notification and the sunroof works! I used the battery from battery sp...
