Actually I can’t tell. I was just happy that I was over with the job. The rattling noise is gone.
It is probably worth noticing, that FCP euro sells the one way clutch in a kit for the scheduled pulley job.

Re: Where exactly is the catalytic converter
I find this thread gives me some hope. I have had my CEL coming on and off for awhile and every time it was the cats, P0240 and P0230. Then the CEL started staying on. Last year in March, my shop gave me a verbal estimate of $8,000 to fix it, and kinda hinted that perhaps I needed to look elsewhere ...

Re: Where exactly is the catalytic converter
Any ideas on my hope to avoid spending big bucks plan to pass the emissions test? P0230 & P0240 is the wiring to the injectors or the injectors on cylinder #3 & #4. Misfire on # 6. Any of these three can certainly keep it from passing emissions. I would start with cleaning the electrical co...

Re: Where exactly is the catalytic converter
Pgill gives excellent advice. Pay attention to the condition of the spark plugs you remove. Also look down the spark plug well with a flash light and look at the piston tops. If you have an oil burn condition you will see oil fouled plugs and oily piston tops. This can be due to the rings being worn...

Re: 2008 V70 150K mile scheduled service
In a precautionary move, I will be replacing the thermostat as a 150k mile service item.
Water pump too. Wife wants it done and she is paying for it so. . . Coolant flush and new radiator hoses too.

Re: $10,000 S80 Challenge
You are coming up on 30 months of ownership at $4500 in cap cost plus repairs, or 150 per month.
That’s really good. To calibrate, if you are driving 12k per year ( not withstanding Covid) that’s an almost all in cost of 15 cpm plus another 10 for gas and oil - half of the Federal rate of 55 cents

Re: $10,000 S80 Challenge
Whether it is your cost of ownership or average yearly mileage, or both, your S80 is on the higher end of price range. For someone with good credit could take it away from you for $83-93 per month, while buyers keeps the cash.

Re: 2010 XC60 T6 - Eternal P0420
FIXED !! (let's hope I didn't jynx it...) Ok, here's the deal. It's been over 5k miles since I installed the spacer and replaced the PCV Trap. (See my last post) I did both of these things together even though neither were "needed" as the last attempt to fix this problem, hoping (and not c...
