Did you check the simple stuff like the front brake dust shields not rubbing on the rotors? They can easily get bumped during brake replacement and rub against the rotor. A gentle bending back is all that is usually needed. Was the problem there before the brakes were worked on? Other issue is I not...

Re: Weird metal grinding noise when driving away
Have a look at the caliper slide pins and make sure the calipers arent getting stuck. If you used rebuilt calipers - some come with mild steel pins which rust, or develop Meervoudigepersoonlijkheidsstoornis (My favorite Dutch word) Thread on this here... https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/view...

Re: Weird metal grinding noise when driving away
Abscate got half of the adjustment correct. The part he forgot is you can also adjust the parking brake lever to give 4-6 'clicks' to pull the shoes fully on. Do this AFTER adjusting the parking brakes at the rear wheel FIRST. The parking brake lever is adjusted buy opening the lid on the center con...

Re: Weird metal grinding noise when driving away
I would also check the parking brake shoes. On our S80, last year I found the brake material had separated from the metal backing, in pieces, so I had to fit new parts. From the work you did on the front brakes, it seems very unlikely that that is where the problem lies. Succes ermee.

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

I noticed the engine was hot because the degreaser evaporated immediatly. I asked him: 'Are you going to powerwash that engine?' He gave me no a...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
So I changed the rear springs, shocks and the bearings that keep the shock in place at the top. One bolt of the bearing broke, but it was easily fixed. I'm saving up some money to do the front struts, but even now the driving experience is so much better :D https://photos.app.goo.gl/woK9vw9rKTzd5dP...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Looks to be within spec, about that mine was set to. Bad alignments are so frustrating! If I'm going to bring my car to you and pay for an alignment, you better do it right the first time! Most shops don't believe in that though.
