Re: Haldex Oil Change

After the CV joint out, the 24mm bolt. At this stage you will need to counter hold the Flange or use a impact gun. There is a seal between the Flange and the Haldex, keep it intact not to use a tool to pry the Flange.

Re: Haldex Oil Change

You need to slacken front CV joint bolts, then the rest will come out.

Don't. Since you had the unit fully drained, fill it up, go for a ride, come back and check the level. You may need to top it up actually.

Re: Exhaust replacement on 2007 XC70

I given thoughts of purchasing the Snabb 3" High Flow Cat Downpipe. Is it a direct fit for the 2.5T? Did you have to plug one of the 2 upstream bungs? Is the downstream O2 sensor at an angle so it doesn't contact the driveshaft? I sent all those questions to SNAAB but haven't heard back. Being...

Troubleshooting shift flare with the help of an Arduino Due

Flare is when RPM spikes, not drops (reduced torque window is gone, engine starts to push, but the clutches in transmission are not engaged yet). What you see and feel is a torque converter lockup: starting from 3d gear transmission first shifts with open TC then a second or two later it gradually l...

Re: Lower control arm and CV boot, should I bother?

Outer CV needs a different type of grease. Inner one (tripod) can use the grease from the GKN rebuild kit, however don't use it in outer joint. I don't remember what exact grease does the outer require. For inner joint you better get a GKN grease as well. I destroyed two axles by using a very expens...

Re: Mineral based oil or Synthetic?

June, If that Wolf's head really is group 4/5 oil, then that is pretty cheap. That works out to $7.50 a quart which is pretty inexpensive if it really is group 4/5 oils with no group 3. The same weight oil from Redline on amazon is more than 2x that wolf's head price. But it does illustrate the wil...

Re: DEM-0001 AWD Not Working

DEM connectors are not soldered to the board, just plugged in mechanically. They don't take any abuse, yours may have lost electrical contact. https://a.d-cd.net/8iAAAgJs5uA-960.jpg Also DEM is not completely water/oil proof, that ruins electronics. I would split the DEM and tried to fix it: clean t...

Re: DEM-0001 AWD Not Working

A new connector can be found under the ref: Volvo, Seat 1J0 973 702 2-Pin
If you have the pin extractor it should be easy.
