I would suspect that adaptation is a mandatory for something like this, you're taking an adapted control unit off one transmission and putting it on another transmission. Take your time when you do the adaptation, find a nice industrial park or somewhere quiet you can go up and down, up and down, at...

Not sure I understand your problem. Are you having a hard time getting the circlips on the end of the CV axle to seat, or is it another problem. Spines should line up and travel a certain distance until the circlip causes interference - is this your problem? That is how my 2004 GM Tranny XC90 worked...

The RH ones should go all the way through the angle gear an slip into the transmission with only a twist to get splines aligned. Left side as mentioned above but you usually have to get it spline aligned and then pop it inward. The snap ring gives resistance and has to be compressed to go in so some...

If I am following your endeavor, you should have the old transmission. Give jimmy57's insert, twist to align, suggestion on it.

Volvo OEM pads always exhibit good stopping power. The downside with them is they tend to be incredibly dusty and your front wheels will look black in no time.

I just replaced a Valve Body on an S80 V8. Shifted perfect right after installation. didn`t bother with resetting adaptation. The fluid had been changed 1000 miles prior so the fluid counter was reset then ( close enough ).Don`t get a rebuilt unit for cheap, or get a rebuild kit. Part of the problem...
