Why Buy A Volvo?
I am drawn to the safety features offered in the Volvo. However, I have been told by former Volvo owners to walk the other way; citing constant reliability concerns, monthly shop visits, blown tires and overall frustration and regret for buying a Volvo. I'm looking at alternatives...I appreciate any/all advice.

Don't be put off.... generally the cars are very good. As with all cars you will find people who have had bad experiences. If you want to avoid teething problems then buy an established model ie V40/S70 as most of the problems will have been ironed out.
The Insurance is cheap on the performance models compared to other makes.
The performance on the T4/5/6 models is breathtaking and the turbo diesels are quite lively.
Build quality is superb on all models I have come accross. The stereos are top quality along with the trim all together owning one is a positive experience.
If main dealer servicing costs worry you then there are plenty of independant specialists who can stamp your service book and there labour can be around 50% of what main dealers charge.

In the UK, Volvos have a reputation for better than average realibilty. My V40 has been great until 140,000 miles. Parts and labour can be pricey but I would definitely get another Volvo.Cheesehead wrote:I am drawn to the safety features offered in the Volvo.
