Still trying to track down mysterious intermittent clicking coming from doors of our new (to us) '94 850T...
It has central door locking and alarm - when the car is started, should the doors automatically lock (provided the doors are all closed)?
We can stop the clicking by manually locking the doors, and my wife has a theory that the clicking is the doors trying unsuccessfully to lock (faulty relay?) - I like her reasoning, but we need to know the answer to the above question.
The car came without a remote, but we have ordered one.
Thanks,
Squeaky

Neither my '93 850glt or my mother's '95 850 Turbo does. Now, that doesn't mean they're not supposed to, but ours doesn't.

Thanks for the input folks. Just to follow up, I checked with the local dealer who confirms that the locks DO NOT engage automatically when the engine is started.
It was also suggested by the shop that the clicking is indeed coming from the driver's door - due to corroded contacts on one or more of the circuits connected to the locking mechanism (of which there are apparently several). Apparently if any water makes its way past the window seal, this can easily happen.
This sounds expensive.
