Question with remote entry Topic is solved

I know this subject has been covered before, but i still have a few questions. When i lock the doors with my key, the red light on the dash comes on then blinks every 20 seconds or so. From what i understand this is what it is suppose to do. Now what my problem is, is that when i go to program my key fob with the instructions from other posts, the red light does not come on after the fifth time of turning the key. All the doors are closed and the locks are all in the same position. The trunk has been unlocked so the key is verticle when removed. I know the alarm works because i have set it off before. Why is it that i can not program the new remote. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you
