Hi,
I am looking into an automatic 1988 740 Station Turbo Intercooler with around 400 000 km on it.
I know the cars has :
New brakes
New battery
New alternator
New tires
New radiator (for the Turbo)
A1 leather interior
A1 exterior
Well tended for.
I am new to Volvo, and browsed a bit, but need help as to:
1) Things that I might want to look for immediately when I inspect the car that is particular to Volvo's
2) Things that I might expect to go wrong in the short-medium-long term particular to Volvo's
I am decent at looking over used cars. So general issues like looking at CV joints, leaks, frothy color in oil, oil in coolant, black cloud in exhaust at startup-gear shift, tranny slip, water floods, over bouncing of suspension, bearing tests and electrical gremlins are part of my usual personal check up.
If you can offer any additional advice, I would greatly appreciate !
Cheers
JF
