Every time I go over uneven part of the road I have loose vibrating metal sound from the rear top. I checked the spring bump stop and it looks secure. I think it is the rear shock mount.
What are the symptoms of a defective shock mount?
What are the procedures to replace it?
Which Volvo is equipped with Nivomat shocks? How would I know if I have them?
Could it be shock?

I think you are correct. Sounds like a broken upper mount. Rear shocks are easy to change.

Under the Modfications section scroll down to Bilstien Shocks.

Nivomats are self-leveling air shocks. Not very common. You would see the apparatus to pump them up if you had them.

850 wagons have Nivomats.
