My 1996 Turbo Wagon (autiomatic trans) won't drive in reverse. I can get it into gear but it shudders and bucks in reverse. It's balky in the forward gears as well, but I'm able to drive the car. I had the trans flushed and refilled with synthetic lubricant about 1000 miles ago. The car has 158,000 miles on it and has otherwise been great. Any ideas?

Reverse was the first gear that went when my transmission went kaplooey. I could drive in the forward gears, but nothing but bucking in reverse. I got a complete rebuild.

My buddy had a problem, not being able to put it reverse...........he added half a can of "sea Foam" tranny fix and left it in, he says he has just left it that way (1yr)and he has not had any problems?

I'd try an Auto-Rx cleaning, and put money away for a transmission replacement if that doesn't work.
