trouble code of P0172/ o2 sensor

Post by 98 grey s70 »

I have a 98 volvo S70 (non turbo) with 235,000. The check engine light is on. I had it checked and it gave me a trouble code of P0172 {fuel mixture too rich}. It runs great! Would replacing the O2 sensor the first place to start? If so, exactly where is it located? Please help!

I don't know, I bought the car when it had 165,000 miles on it.

I have read about cleaning the sensors with a propane torch and brake cleaner but remember to use anti sieze compound on the threads before reinstalling.

I will probably just get a new O2 sensor because I plan on keeping this car till it dies. Thanks!
