Remote entry....able to program? Topic is solved

I recently bought a remote entry device from ebay that is the for my new (used) 1999 S70; the people at the dealership are telling me that it can't be programmed, something about either the unit or the car itself has software that cant be changed which was initiated in all 99 and up cars. They tell me to get a remote entry, I will have to order a completely new set from them for $110 bucks and have it installed that way....

Are they feeding me a load of bull or is there any merit to this?

The 850s could be programmed the 70 series cannot
