Check engine light
My check engine light has been on for a while and is starting to drive me nuts. Once upon a time, I had directions (from an IPD flyer) on how to check the codes and reset the light, but I have lost the directions. I even did it once about a year ago. From what I remember, you plug two wires into certain "number ports" in the unit. Unfortunately I do not remember the process and was wondering if anyone could help me out. Also, is there a good source to goto once I have the code to see what it is telling me? Thanks.

Grasshopper, all you need to know and more may be found at:
http://www.brickboard.com/FAQ/700-900/E ... DCodes.htm
This link has the test procedures and fault codes. I did it this weekend on a friend's 92 745T. I recommend that you print the directions and codes, and go to your car with that printout and a pen to write the flashes and codes down with. Don't forget to clear the memory when you're done (directions for that at the link I gave you, also).
Good luck and happy motoring.

Diagnostics Complete!! The directions were great. Turns out the fault was a faulty message (or lack thereof) from the knock sensor. I am going to wait and see if the fault occurs again, and then go from there to figure out the problem. Thanks.
