Car is overheating after driving a long distance - greater than 5 miles.

Has replaced heat sensor thermostat flushed radiator. Problem still occurs

I would check the new thermostat. Put it into some boiling water and check if it is really opening just before the water boils.
Another thing is that you have probably one of those cooling fans with a thermostat clutch normally sliding. Check that when the engine is hot that the clutch in the cooling fan is closed so you can feel a very strong wind behind the fan.
It could also be a bad thing, the motor headgasket is leaking.
