specs on volvo Diesel Topic is solved

My wife had a 740, about a 75 model (i think) with a Diesel engine. It was slanted in the engine compartment.
How much Torque did that diesel have?
What was the MPG of that diesel?

The idea of replaceing a gas engine in a Ford Pickup with that Volvo diesel sort of intrigued me.
Also, did Volvo have a Four speed auto for that Diesel.

I'll check in later tonite and tomorrow.

I have found some information, the 240 with diesel was called D6. It was introduced in 1979 and the diesel was manufacured by VW. The power is 82hp, torque 140Nm and it is 6 cylinder 2,4 litre engine. The typecode for the engine is D24

The 700 series was introducted in 1983, the diesel engine used was the VW 2.4L 6 cylinder engine D24 or D24T in turbo model
