I have a 1998 XC70. When I chnage the oil...I make a mess!! Right in front of the drain plug is a flange which the oil flos into and send the oil in all different directions. I wish I had a camera to take a pic of this and attach, but I don't.
Questions:
1. Do you know what I am talking about?
2. If so, how do you drian the oil without making a mess?
Thanks

You might want to consider a drain valve. Its like a spigot for your oil drain. You can get them for your car.

I have had the Fumoto valves on all of my vehicles since the mid 90's. Great product - spend the little bit extra for the model with the nipple.

I bought a fumoto valve and am about to install it on my 1998 XC70. Should I use a new crush washer when installing, or use the washer that came with the fumoto valve (looks like a felt or paper washer)?
Thanks
