I bought my S40 T5 and have about 30000 miles on it so far. The past two weeks, I've been noticing that the car is more noisy than before. My friends have told me it's the turbo, another said it's the bearing. The sound isn't very apparent, but you know it's more noisy. I'm going to have the forman drive the car with me, but i'm afraid that he may say that it's normal. Can someone please advise?
Thanks![/b]

You'll have to give us more detail on the noise. Is it hard, soft, mechanical, screeching... etc.
Does it happen when starting, under accelleration, under breaking, under cruising, when cold, when warm... etc.
Does it come from the cabin, the engine, the front, back, wheels... etc.
Any vibration?

The noise seems to be from the back. It is most apparent when I'm driving on the freeway at about 65 and up. I know the car was not this noisy in the beginning. It doesn't get any louder when I accelerate quickly. Before this incident, my car would previously drag the minute I lifted my foot off the gas. It would decelerate much quicker instead of cruising. The service fixed this problem, but couldn't find the noise.
My friend says it's the turbo, he just doesn't understand why it can get louder from before.
Please advise.
