S40 T5 2004.5 Noise at the front disc brakes after rain Topic is solved

I have asked my local volvo dealer to check a disturbing noise at the front disc brakes and they just told me is because there is a piece of metal that got wet and bended because of sudden change in temperature, they told me that the problem was corrected but there was more rain and the noise is back, anyone experiencing same problem?

I have the same problem but I haven't gone to the dealer yet. I bought my care about 6 weeks ago and it happen soon after.
On my T5 I get this soft to very lound noise on the front brake, only in the mornning, when I'm in reverse going backwards on my driveway.
It is very strange has it happens most morning but not every morning. Not necerely when it rains, and only in reverse going down hill until I run with the front brake for few seconds? My guess so far is that there is tight tolerences and that the brakes link attachment are weaker when going backwards. How about you? Do you hear the noise all the time?

I haven't heard any noise while braking, but I have heard a thumping sound sometimes in the morning when I back my T5 out of the garage. It can't be rain, since it's inside. As the above poster, it only happens in reverse. I think this is an unrelated problem to yours though.

My 850 does the same thing. Because the metal in the disks is unprotected, it will get a surface layer of rust formed over it in minutes after they get wet and are unused. If you wash your own car you can see them turn rusty orange before you even finish the wash! Anyway that rust will make the disk stick a little bit if left over night in the garage after a rain. It is really no problem at all.
