Hi,
I was replacing my control arms because the right ball joint was bad. It's an easy job (usually). I did the left arm in about 20 minutes. When I got to the right one. the rear bolt was stuck inside the metal sleeve of the CA bushing and wouldn't come out. Tried hammering, heating and finally an air chisel to try to get it out. no luck.
My question is, will I have to have it cut out with a torch( I don't have one), or does someone have an idea I haven't thought of?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I did the control arm / ball joint replacement last weekend on my 95 850 wagon (just the passenger side). The frame mount bolt came out fine when I punched it through with a center punch. The front bushing inside the frame mount did expand a bit, so I had to work and wiggle it until it came free.
The bolt that held the ball joint to the steering knuckle broke when I put the breaker bar on it, same deal, I punched it out easy enough.
The toughest part was expanding the steering knuckle clamp enough to pull out the ball joint. I whacked at it on both sides with a blunt chisel to expand the knuckle, then just kept working at it until it just came loose.
I'm glad the Hamburg control arm I got from FCP Groton ($75) came with new bolts, because the old ones were trashed after I got through with them.
