Have a 99' S80 that as the weather begins to get colder (50 degrees F or colder) the transmission gets stuck in park till the engine heats up. No problems in the summer time, but as soon as weather turns its starts again.
Also when after shutting the car off after driving, the steering wheel won't lock & you can't the keys out for awhile. Then in a few minutes, you try and it comes right out.
It is like the car doesn't know its in park or that the car has been started.
I've read some stuff about a solenoid (sp?)?
Anybody out there run into this?

Sounds what we 850 owners call the PNP switch. Before you look in to having it replaced, run through the gears -- with the car off -- P to 3 about 20 times to help clean the contacts.
