760 turbo wagon-sometims no start, strong smell of fuel. Topic is solved

my 760 turbo wagon sometimes will not start, I have tried tapping on the
fuel pump and starter. Neither method helps. The smell of fuel is very very
strong, but I cannot locate any leaks, no puddles, no drips. when the car starts it runs fine. any ideas? I may end up taking it to the dealership for
this one, dont want to take any chances with the wife and kid. thanks, any info or ideas will help.
