hi , could my fuel filter be the cause of excessive exhaust fumes . as my 1999 18i s40 seems to be a bit fumey at times , it has done 84000mls but runs sweet and doesnt use oil , im getting 38/40 mpg so there seems to be no real problem but when i stop at traffic lights the cars interior soon becomes very smelly , this happens wether the car is hot or cold .
