arrow flasshing and shifting problem

Post by Rush »

Arrow is flashing in the dash and in center console for econo/sport. causin the car only start moving at like 2500 rmp. In the morning when car is cold it does not want to shift into 2 gear just revs up and nothing. once you stop and let it heat up it shifts fine. I read that flashing arrow is caused by bad PNP switch... but what about my shifting problem?

Thanks!!!

Sounds like a problem with your solenoids. Before I had mine replaced on my 93 850 I was advised to try changing the transmission fluid. Didn't help...
Is it setting any codes?

That may point back to the PNP. Again, pulling the codes may go a long way to pointing you in the right direction.

Flashing arrow
Switching from 1st to 2nd gear delay
Unable to start the car

FIXED by replacing PNP switch.

Thanks all for replies.

Similar problem with my car a few years ago. Battery terminals were dirty and battery was low on charge. Check there to see if there's a problem.
