Key code programming Topic is solved

I just purchased a replacement key for used 2000 XC SE wagon that I purchased last week. After the dealer charged me $46 for the new key they conveniently forgot to tell me that they charge one hour of labor ($90) to program the key.
Is there any way I can get around this?

Any input would be appreciated. Also my radio display light is out. Does anyone know if it can be replaced?
