throttle unit - 1999 V70 XC Topic is solved

Anyone know anything about this little baby they call the throttle unit. ECM light woke me one day and the mechanic at the dealer was kind enough to test. ECM 901 E, 903C and 903F showed "internal fault" and after making some adjustment, light went out. Mechanic informed, however, that could require software or unit replacement, the latter evidently a fairly substantial ticket. With only a few weeks since warranty expired, an four-year, intermittent engine light illumination and a recent brake job where discs had to be replaced (car has 40G miles), I'm getting a little skittish about my swedish ancestry.
