V70 T5 Auto Missfire when hot

Post by Ken Wood »

My 1998 V70 T5 Auto has a missfire when hot (after 20mins running or so). It has a Gas conversion and originally only did this on gas. Now it does it on petrol also, but not as bad. When ticking over it's worse under load (in drive with the brakes on for instance) then when I pull away, it splutters and loses power quite badly. Seems OK once cruising under light load. I have replaced the plugs, just the same.

Have you also done all of the other things associated w/ an ignition tune-up such as plug wires and distributor cap and rotor?

Hi Aviator

Have bought those, hopefull fitting them this weekend, just hope it's not a sensor or something, anoying how much diagnosing problem can cost! Can't understand how if it's the ignition system it's worse under load?
