Hi,

I got a 1990 740 station wagon and it has a couple of problems.

1. The transmission is not catching on to the 4th gear. I replaced the faulty relay and I think it might be the solenoid. After reading some posts, I plan to replace it in a couple of months instead of modifying it. Is it something a novice mechanic can do without having the car on a lift? What
