1994 850 OEM Radio Only Plays through Right Ronf Speaker

Post by bgunder1 »

I own a 1994 850 with 175,000 miles in magnificant, original condition. The original AM/FM Cassette only plays through the right front speaker. It occasionally plays through all four speakers upon startup for mere seconds, then it reverts back to the right front speaker. I don't want to replace the entire audio system. Any suggestions?

1) possible fracture in printed circuit board.

2) possible connector.

higher probability of hairline fracture in PCB. as unit warms up, fracture widens. recommend u change unit.

if connector u can still hear something once a while when warm or hear nothing if connector disconnected.

hope this helps

You will find useful information if you do a search of the archives for ta8221l

The search will lead you to a thread in which I discussed at length how I resolved a similar problem.

Hope it helps. :)
