Air filter Upgrade Topic is solved

While under the hood of my 1984 240 dl, i noticed that the air box was very large but the hole where the air flows out of was quite a bit smaller than what could be there. has anyone ever tried to up the amount of air going into the engine. are there any kits like a K&N, or anything else that could let my engine breath a bit more. if i did this i would i have to adjust other things on my car. idle, air fuel mix.

I have an 81 240 DL. I use the Amzoil air filter but the K&N is just as good. I also noticed the hose arrangement, but the air intake is determined by the vacuum. These 2 above filters I believe have the least air resistance with the most cleaning capacity.
