How many gallons can a 1986 740GLE hold?

the 700 series hold 60L (about 16 US gal)
There may be a small reserve of about 5L (1 Gal.) above this.

Really!! My fillups average to around 40-45 liters of fuel (I'm not a red-zone-riding type of person, heh.

BTW Volvord, how's your fuel economy with the conversion?

Well

you really don't do a conversion like mine with fuel economy in mind. In reality I get around 12 mpg in the city but on the highway at constant speeds of 120kph (70 mph) I get around 28 mpg.
