I own a 95 940 (not turbo) with 175K miles on it. I bought it nearly 3 years ago with 135K and have only had to make the usual maintenance. Within the past week though it has not started for me regularly. I just had a new battery put in, so I know it's not a question of power. The car appears as if it's not receiving any gas.
The first time it occured was after I stopped at an autoparts place after work to buy headlights. A very nice employee came out and said I was out of gas. I knew this wasn't the case because I had only gone 100 miles on the 19 gallons. Nevertheless I walked to the gas station, filled up a 2 gal container and returned. I put it in and the car started! I immediately went to fill the tank up and it only took 4 more gallons (as it should have). The car worked fine for a 3 more days and then failed to start this morning.
It has been consistantly below freezing here (in DC) and I have not been driving the car everyday. Could keeping it on the street adversely affect it? I've snooped around and it seems like it may be either the relay switch or the fuel pump. I would appreciate any suggestions.
Additionally, for the past 6 weeks the heat has not been working properly and the car will simply not heat up. Are the two related?
Thanks,
Tim
