Sunroof upholstery tear Topic is solved

Dear Volvo whiz's,

My 740 has a manual crank sunroof, which I love. Unfortunately, from being opened and closed the upholstery in the center is tearing. The tear is about 4 inches long and 2 inches wide, sort of diamond shaped. There is another small tear about the size of a quarter a couple inches away. Not sure why it's ripping but it keeps me from opening my sunroof cause I don't want to make it worse. I've toyed with covering it with something, but tape or a sticker seems...shabby. Perhaps an iron on transfer? Honestly I don't know what to do without replacing the entire thing...maybe there is a quick fix I don't know about...suggestions?
