Post by bartmiester »

Hello,
I own a 90 740 wagon 5spd and I`m thinking on buying a 94 850 wagon with 230k miles on it What are the problem areas of this car(94) and what should I be looking for?
Thanks,
Bart

Go back through the pages to see what has been posted - there is a good cross section of the issues that many of us have had. The 740 is a very different vehicle than an 850. You can also check out these links on others that have issues:

The 850 has been a good car for me (had one and it was totaled and bought another) and I now have 103K miles and expect to go to 200K with out any other major issues (I have replaced the transmission at 90K). I don't know if I would buy an 850 with over 200K as a dependable vehicle. The 850 requires a bit more care than previous models. I would look for an 850 with less than 100K.

My opinion...
'11 C30 T5

'96 854 - died an early death with 184K miles. Killed by the front end of an LTD on a suicide mission (T-boned and both cars totaled).
