Battery Draining- suggestions?

Post by Sucker for a Volvo »

Just bought a 98 S70, extremely low miles, but the battery dies (no turn-over) after a couple of days. Replaced the battery. Charged new battery on 2 amp setting until completely charged. Noticed that one interior light stays on, and the switch on the overhead console by the rear view mirror will only turn the lights off when in the "off" position- if you set it to turn the lights off when you close the door, the lights stay on, regardless of whether the doors are opened or closed.

Anyone else have this problem? Suggestions? Advice? Prayers for my wallet?

Sounds like an alternator problem of some sort.
