I need to replace my front calipers, brake hoses and sway bar link on my 95 850 trubo and wanted to know how hard is it to do this work at home..do i need any speciality tools for sway bar link, hoses and calipers.
i have the Haynes manual but does anyone have any link to some step by step illustration on doing this work on a 850...
If someone can tell what are the manuals from the volvo site that I should look at ..i can order it from there. Also If someone can tell me what manual numbers that deal with TPS, IAC and EGR ..
Thanks

The brakes are not difficult - just messy. Here is a link to VolvoSpeed Bay13 that has an article about brake replacement and the tools needed.850Tur wrote:I need to replace my front calipers, brake hoses and sway bar link on my 95 850 trubo and wanted to know how hard is it to do this work at home..do i need any speciality tools for sway bar link, hoses and calipers.

I see that you are replacing a caliper and brake line. The brakes calipers are made out of metal that corrodes easily. If you were going to be just replacing the pads I would recommend going an extra step cleaning the calipers with scoch-brite and alcohol. Use good quality brake grease and silicon DOT4. Bleed the rear brakes till the fluid is new. After a few days you may need to bleed the calipers that you replaced again.
TPS, IAC, and EGR are all listed in the Haynes manual
