fuel economy with an 87 240 sedan

Post by guest »

I am a daily driver of a 87' 240GL with 175,000. I am getting between 23 to 25 MPG (depending on types of driving I have done). What should I be expecting, is this a good average?? I do need to replace front rotors and a posible left front caliper.

I receive only 12-16mpg on my 850 (I can't figure out why) so I assume you're getting good mileage. I'd say 20 should be the average.

Yes about 25 mpg is average for the 240 series. My 240DL gets low 20's in the city and about 28ish on the highway

you should do that anyways. on my 740 the brakes drag a bit, but i've figured out that i can my my city milage be anything from 17-23 mpg depending on how i drive, so i doubt the brakes have much to do with the milage you get.
