where is the rely and how do I confirm it's functioning?

the relay is green, and is located next to the fuse panel (under the hood) You must remove the fuse panel cover to see the relay. Using a multimeter would be the best method to check the relay, but you can alternatively push down on the relay and see if you can feel it clicking.

ok thanks for the info- however, would the car still turnover (as it does) even though the relay is faulty?

yes, it would crank, but would fail to start... The starter motor does the cranking, but it won't start because the fuel relay isn't turning on the pump to give it fuel, which would ignite due to spark, and would bring the engine to running. However, without fuel, the starter motor cranks, but detonation never occurs.

my engine atarts but takes several cranks up to 8 seconds then kicks over. I have replace cap/rotor. cleaned IAC and TB, replaced plugs, MAF and have new battery (spec).

You need 3 things to run: spark, air and fuel.

Sounds like you're not getting fuel. Did you test the pressure like my post above detailed?

From my earlier post in this thread:

You can test fuel pressure -- with the car off -- by following the fuel rail to the right, looking for a valve just like on tires. Get a rag under it, and press the little widget like letting out air from a tire. Fuel should come out/should be under pressure; at least it does on my 850.

ok- i pulled the fuse cover-I see 3 relay labled P and green, red and larger black one. Which do I push down on and should the ignition be on? what will I hear?
