Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be my lastest problem.
Heater fan will just switch itself off for no reason. Seems to be if the fan is not turned up too much it will stay on (this is no guarantee), once it's turned it off you have to switch the car off and on again ( well normally this works, but as before this is also no guarantee)
Is this the evaporator thing?
To those who answered my last set off problems, thanks I'll give it a go and see what happens

Hi Paul,
Do you have the "automatic Climate control" on your 850? Usually this is where the passenger and driver each have their own temperature knobs.
If you do have this type of system you could have a couple of different problems.
1. Bad fan switch-this is the slide switch which gives you variable control over fan speed.
2. Intermittent fault in the Auto Climate control panel.
3. Possibly a bad relay overheating
4. Possibly a bad Heater fan (I had this problem and had to replace the whole thing. I did it myself with minimal tools and bought a used fan motor with the fan cage for $100 US)
If you don't turn the car off, but turn the fan all the way off and all the on again would the fan restart? Does the fan make a lot of noise (mine squeeled when we had low humidity). When you turn the car off do you take the key all the way out of the ignition or just move it to the "on, but not running position"?
Good luck,
Eoin
