S80 T6 Intermittant loss of power

Post by Guest »

Hello there,
I have been reading this for a while now and thought it was time I added.
i think i should register actually.
I have become the proud owner of a T6, or so i thought.
I am experianceing quite a few problems, and would gladly exept any advice I was given.

Fist problem is the loss of power, car goes ace until i get to 4000rpm, it then hessitates/surges until i get to 5000rpm then off it goes again.
Volvo have fitted me a new throttle body, no change.

Second problem is the door locks, they lock with the key fob irratically, when the key fob will not lock the doors, the key will not either.
The key will only lock the drivers door, so i have to manually depress every button and then lock the drivers door with the key.
Strange thing is it happens so irratically. If I lock the doors as mentioned above, i can unlock all the doors with the fob or the key.
I have checked all the doors and the trunk are shut, i know this will stop the doors locking.
Volvo have replaced the drivers and front passenger side door lock mechanism/moter. When they changed the drivers side they showed us the moter, it looked as if it was over heating and starting to melt!!!!

The next problem is a kind of humming noise from the front of the car, I am not sure what this is, only happens when the car is moving over 20 mph.
Apparently its not the wheel bearings volvo have striped them out, or so they say.

The next is a nocking when i have passengers in the car especially in the rear of the car behind the driver. this happens when i turn around left hand corners, but yet again only ever so often.

Any help will be much apreciated.
BTW it is a 2000 T6
Thank again
Steve.

All these probs have been sorted.
Replaced all the suspention struts and anti-roll bar bushes.
Track control arms.
The loss of power was found to be the software in the gearbox and the main ecu.
To find it they replaced all the injectors, the fuel pump the maff/map sensor.
They then reloaded the software in to the gearbox ecu, then the re-loaded the software into the ecu for the engine management.
WOW,
This car is truely fast.
Hope this may help someone.
BTW.
Does anyone know how to turn off the day running lights on a S80 T6?

Glad to read you've gotten your problems fixed. And thanks for posting your follow up.

If the S80 is like my 850, there will be a tiny flathead-screw type plastic switch on the light switch that can be turned with, you guessed it, a tiny flathead screwdriver.

In markets where daytime running lights are mandatory, like Canada, this small switch does not exist.

I hear this once in while as well. What exactly was the cause of this in your T6.
