I own a 1995 850 GLE - Automatic transmission.
This is my first winter with it (Montreal), and I have noticed the following:
The overdrive arrow pops up momentarily when I move the shifter in any gear position (Park --> Reverse or Reverse --> Drive or Park --> Drive). The funny thing is that this only happens at the start of the drive and dissapears as the car warms up. In 2 instances, the arrow stayed stuck in a flashing mode for a few hours and then disappeared the next day.
Tranny oil has been checked and looks ok.
Anyone know what this can be and how I can get it fixed?

Contacts on the gear position sensor are getting gummed up. Move gear selector from P to 1 20 or 30 times, when car is off.
